Car for facade maintenance
Technical challenges:
The engineering solution for the facade maintenance of this building needed to provide access to a large number of surfaces. Additionally, the circulation area of the BMUs on the building's roof had multiple obstacles that prevented the installation of large gondolas. On the other hand, the track circuit for the gondola (previously installed) had very sharp curves and a very short distance between rails.
Our solution:
Given the rail design and the little space for the movement of the machines, the installation of three GCM model trolleys was chosen to guarantee optimal facade maintenance. Unlike the GPBMU gondolas, the GCM trolley works with motorized interchangeable baskets for one or two people, which resulted in great savings for the building owner. A single basket for three trolleys installed. The fact that our trolley has motors in the basket and not in the counterweight area also constitutes a space saving at the rear of the machine. This feature allowed movement in the narrowest areas of the roof as seen in the installation images. Additionally, the arms that support the BMU on the building's rails were designed to be movable, ensuring safe passage in the curves.
